Stage 8 – Four-Note Chords

In Stage 8, you’ll learn to read and play four-note chords by:

  • Learning about four-note chords in root position and inversions
  • Practising chord drills
  • Sight-reading excerpts with four-note chords

Not sure if this is the right stage for you?

If you answer “yes” to any of the following questions, then I recommend you do this stage.

  • Does it take you longer than 3 seconds to sight-read four-note chords?
  • Do you try to read all 4 notes of the chords when sight-reading?
  • Do you find it hard to quickly play a four-note chord, whether the root position, the first inversion or the second inversion?
